Food insecurity is a common community-based problem in all three states served by MWCUF.

Reducing food insecurity is a global initiative occurring in all communities locally and regionally.

Credit unions that work to reduce food insecurity in their communities can have a significant impact.

Food insecurity is one way we can measure and assess the risk of hunger. In the United States, currently 1 in 9 people struggle with hunger.

Food insecurity affects our local communities in Arizona, Colorado, and Wyoming

Credit Unions for Hunger Relief™ will:

Build a new brand for credit unions centered on a collective initiative and a way to become known as bringing relief to the food insecure within their communities.

Customize individual credit union efforts by allowing funding to be raised and distributed locally and within their communities.

Communicate to legislators a new charitable presence that belongs to credit union’s alone and answers the question “what do credit unions do to serve their communities?”

Capture the attention of legislators through both community action and credit unions advocacy.

Create a collective story based on cooperation and help solve a community problem namely food insecurity.
